SAGER operates in the field of integrated waste management, covering all operations, from collection and transport to recovery and disposal, using Company-owned and/or external plants, dealing with urban and special hazardous and non hazardous waste. Final operations include cleaning and disinfection of all equipment used (waste containers) and public areas (road brushing including vegetation removal, cleaning of catch basins and drain systems, etc.), as well as emergency interventions, such as hot spot removal, ice formation prevention and road snow removal.
SAGER provides environmental services for both public and private businesses, working for the entire public defined by the relevant legislation, i.e. 3rd April 2006 n. 152 Decree and the Single Environment Code, offering services complying with environmental legal provisions and standards.
Specifically, Article 178 provides the legal basis for SAGER activities.
Art. 178 - Principles
1. Waste management is run according to the principles of precaution, prevention, sustainability, proportionality, ownership and cooperation of all partied involved in production, distribution, usage and consumption of goods leading to waste, and according to the polluter pays principle. To this aim, waste management is carried out following the principles of effectiveness, efficiency, economic viability, transparency and technical and economic feasibility, but also in compliance with existing rules relating to environmental information participation and access.
